Chapter 11 (
Haruto Kaguragi becomes furious at Airi Maya, when she admits to exposing Oto Edogawa as a "peasant". Oto decides to quit Eitoku, though she finds herself unable to tell her mother. She visits Tenma Hase later to inform him.
Plot[]
After admitting to the fliers, Airi Maya claims to Haruto Kaguragi that she "can't bear to [him] being manipulated by Oto Edogawa". Haruto crumples one of the fliers and glares at Airi. She tries to defend herself by mentioning Haruto's goal for Eitoku. Haruto attempts to leave, but Airi begins talking about Oto again. When she talks about kicking Oto out, Haruto yells "enough, Airi!" He threatens "to beat [her] up, if she says another word. Airi watches his receding back as she calls him "stupid".
At home, Oto is greeted by her mother, who shows her a photo album. Her mother quickly gets lost in old memories, including those of her best friend Miyoko, Tenma Hase's mother. Oto's mother remarks that she and Miyoko hoped they would "become family through [their] children." Miyoko has since died, which still deeply effects Oto's mother. Oto attempts to tell her mother about her quitting Eitoku, though she loses heart after hearing her reminisces.
Oto goes over to Tenma's house, which reminds her of Haruto's similar "grand" house. As she recounts her experiences with Haruto, Oto wonders if he really posted the fliers. Tenma then greets her at the gate. Oto swiftly tells him that she is quitting Eitoku and that she no longer meets the requirements set by his parents. Clearly shocked, Tenma asks for a reason, though Oto places all the blame on herself. At Haruto's house, Kaito Taira concedes that Airi's actions were "horrid", but plans to give Oto a withdrawal notice.
