Nutrition major Dong Shan Cai begins attending her dream school, Ming De University. Her dream soon turns to a nightmare thanks to the F4's leader Dao Ming Si. After a few days of being bullied, Shan Cai stands up to him by kicking him in the face.
Si develops a crush on Shan Cai and asks her to be his girlfriend. She refuses, calling him a "narcissist". Shan Cai instead has feelings for Si's best friend Hua Ze Lei, whose first love Teng Tang Jing has come back from France.
Shan Cai and her friend Chen Qing He go on a trip to Sanya. They are followed there by Si and his friends. At a party, Shan Cai accidentally kisses Si. She later becomes depressed after seeing Lei confessing his feelings to Jing. Si ends up cheering her up that night.
Li Xin Hui secretly tapes Lei and Shan Cai during the trip. She shows the video to Si when they return from break. He snaps and attempts to assault to Shan Cai, but stops once she starts to cry. Later, she attends Jing's party with her best friend Jiang Xiao You.
At her birthday party, Jing announces her plans to return to France. Lei is devastated by the news. Shan Cai tries to convince him to make her stay and later pleads with Jing. After Jing leaves, Lei follows after her. Si asks Shan Cai on a date, though she does not hear him over the planes.
Shan Cai loses a card game to Si, who asks her to treat him to dinner. Shan Cai makes up her mind not to go, but becomes worried about him. Hours later, the two are trapped in an elevator and end up spending the night together. Rumors of them dating begin to circulate at school.
