Rumi Shishido (宍戸 留美 (ししど るみ) , Shishido Rumi, born November 6, 1973 in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan) is a voice actress and recording artist in Japan. She voiced Sakurako Sanjo in the Boys Over Flowers anime.

She was credited as Mikako Sakurada (櫻田 実果子 (さくらだ みかこ) , Mikako Sakurada) for some of her early voice roles, including Boys Over Flowers. The name comes from her first voice acting role as Mikako Koda in Gokinjo Monogatari.

Biography

Early life

Shishido was born on November 6, 1973 in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. Her family moved to Hiroshima, where she attended school at Hijiyama Women's Junior and Senior High School and graduated from Nikaido High School.

Career

Rumi made her debut in 1989 by winning a contest hosted by Lotte (ロッテ () , Lotte). She appeared in their commercial shortly after, and released her first single, "Cosmic Rendezvous". Shishido became an independent artist in 1992.

She began working as a voice actress in 1995 with the role of Mikako Koda in Gokinjo Monogatari. Shishido's other voice acting work include Ojamajo Doremi, Ashita no Nadja, Paradise Kiss, and Jewelpet.
